Step 6: Fiberglass |
This next stage of building your custom boat, involves applying the Fiberglass and resins to create the Hull and the Top of the Boat. Materials used here include Knytex Cross woven fabric, Vinyl Ester resins and hand laid Balsa core. Each piece of fabric is then coated in the resin, and hand applied to the Mold of the boat. No fiberglass will be sprayed with a gun. Each piece of fabric is hand laid into the crevices and folds of each Mold. Ensuring total coverage and strength to the Boat. This process will continue from bow to stern, both Top and Bottom Molds. It will then be given a chance to dry, which takes anywhere from 3 - 4 weeks depending on the length of the Mold. |
