Step 4: Taping

At this stage, the taping begins. Notice the green tabs? Each stripe or checker pattern is done this way. All Gel Coat is reverse painted. If you review the design, you will notice that the most outer color is what is being painted first.

Once the Mold is taped with the design, each tab is labeled with a number, this tells the Gel Coater to remove the correct taping to the design. Some designs can get real complicated in a hurry, but do not be alarmed. ADVANTAGE has hired the best in the industry.
